Domestic Violence against Women

The objective of bachelor thesis is Domestic violence. The conception of domestic violence is defined in the theoretical part of my thesis. The main definitions and terminology are explained such as what the domestic violence is, who is affected by it and what forms it can be in. The legal framework and the epidemiology of it in the Czech Republic are mentioned. The practical part of my thesis is focused on the results of a questionnaire that was conducted in elementary and secondary schools.

Law protection of the underage sexual abused children in the age cathegory from newborns to the age of three

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na problematiku pohlavního zneužívání dětí v České republice. Specifikuje věkovou skupinu dětí do tří let, přičemž se zaměřuje na incidenci a prevalenci těchto případů v české společnosti. Pozornost je upřena zejména na charakteristiku tohoto fenoménu ze všech jeho aspektů, kterými jsou společenské vnímání, atributy pohlavního zneužívání a domácího násilí obecně, legislativní problematika k tématu pohlavního zneužívání nezletilých, financování pomoci poskytované pohlavně zneužitým dětem. Nadále je specifikovány diagnostické metody využívané v České republice k detekci pohlavního v komparaci s alternativními přístupy diagnostiky využívanými v zahraničí, které zaznamenávají úspěch zejména v nejnižších věkových kategoriích. Práce se věnuje také problematice orgánu sociálně-právní ochrany dětí a jejího poskytování v souvislosti s pohlavním zneužíváním. Attachment in Facilities for children requiring immediate intervention

The aim of this thesis named Attachment in Facilities for children requiring immediate intervention is to describe bonding behavior of children, who are situated in these facilities. I describe the attachment theory, but also current knowledge, manifestations of individual types of attachment and diagnostics of attachment in the theoretical part. I also characterize Facilities for children requiring immediate intervention, legislative definition of these facilities and try to describe some problems, which are caused by some current attitudes (attitudes which the system of Czech Republic isn't able to deal with). The practical part of thesis is based on the work of a particular facility. I describe cases of children by quality research and case studies in this part. The Case Study of Life of Chosen Children, Who Grow Up in Children´s Homes in the Region of Central Bohemia

The thesis looks at issues regarding the life of children growing up in children's homes. Theoretical part focuses on child, family, its functions and behavioural disorders in family that often result in violence against children and may lead to institutional childcare. The section regarding behavioural disorders in family is followed by a description of specific aspects of social and legal protection of children. Solutions and possibilities provided by State or other organizations for at-risk children are described. There is also a description of substitute care institutions. Finally, the most frequent reasons for placement of children in children's homes are listed, including risks that may result from leaving such institutions. Practical part of the thesis looks at young people growing up in children's homes. Children´s life in such institutions was mapped using qualitative research. The main objective was to answer to the research questions in order to get a better understanding of issues regarding children placed in children's homes.

The problems of CAN syndrom from look the basic school teachers'

Occurrence of Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) has recently become quite frequent. Even though the number of experts dealing with this issue is increasing and there is a lot of professional literature available, the numbers of children abused and neglected are on increase. Traumas and pathological behaviour, which children experience in their families, are often carried over to adulthood and new families in the form of behavioural patterns. Basic school teachers, who spend substantial part of the day with children in the classes, play an important role not only in prevention, but also in detecting CAN cases. The objective of the diploma thesis was to observe the level of awareness among teachers regarding CAN and related issues and to find out whether they know what to do in case a child is suspected of being abused or neglected. Also, it was aimed at learning whether the awareness is influenced by microregion the teachers live in and respondents? age. The hypotheses were established to observe whether the teachers of basic schools in Jindřichův Hradec have better awareness of the issues relating to CAN than the teachers of basic schools in Třeboň, and whether the teachers of basic schools in Jindřichův Hradec have better awareness of the issues relating to CAN than the teachers of basic schools in Dačice. Next hypothesis dealt with whether basic school teachers under 40 years of age demonstrate better CAN awareness than teachers above 40 years of age. A quantitative research using the method of interview and technique of questionnaire was used to verify the hypotheses. The research corpus comprised of teachers of basic schools in the microregions of Dačice, Jindřichův Hradec and Třeboň. The finite corpus comprised of 193 respondents. The teachers of basic schools in the microregion of Jindřichův Hradec did not demonstrate better awareness of the issues relating to CAN than the teachers of basic schools the microregions of Třeboň and Dačice. Also, the teachers under 40 years of age did not demonstrate better awareness of the issues at hand than the teachers above 40 years of age. Analysis of the outcomes retrieved from the performed research did not confirm validity of the hypotheses H1, H2 and H3. The outcomes of the thesis imply that awareness of the basic school teachers, who were included in the research corpora in the given microregions, regarding the issues relating to CAN do not relate either to given microregions, where teachers work, or the age of the respondents. In general, respondents showed substantial awareness of CAN. It should be noted that CAN is very serious social problem and each society should pay proper attention to it.
